Maintaining Your Kid’s Bike: A Parent’s Guide

A well-maintained bike lasts longer, rides smoother, and keeps your child safe. Here’s a simple monthly checklist that takes about 10 minutes.
Tires: Check pressure — soft tires make pedaling harder and are more prone to flats. Inflate to the PSI printed on the sidewall. Chain: Wipe it clean and apply a few drops of bike chain oil. A dry, squeaky chain wears out faster. Brakes: Squeeze each lever and check that the pads grip the rim or disc firmly. Adjust cable tension if the lever pulls more than halfway to the grip. Bolts: Check handlebar, stem, seat, and wheel bolts for tightness — kids’ bikes take a lot of vibration. Clean: Wipe down the frame with a damp cloth to remove grit that can scratch the paint.
If you notice any unusual sounds, loose components, or difficulty braking, bring the bike to a qualified technician — or contact our support team for guidance.
